What’s the worst habit a roommate has ever had?
Getting naked as soon as he walks into the hotel room, that was bad.
What’s the funniest trash talk you’ve heard on the ice?
In the first round of the playoffs, a guy walked up to a player on the other team and asked him if he was growing out his acne for the playoffs.
What three celebrities, dead or alive, would you like to hang out with?
Lance Armstrong for sure, Wayne Gretzky just because of all the memories, and probably Denzel Washington.

What’s the strangest motivational talk you’ve ever heard from a coach?
I know someone already used this, but the guy in the preseason in PEI this year. The guy just came into the dressing room and was going crazy dropping f-bombs all over the place. I know me and Wes [Welcher] just had these big grins on our face when we looked at each other, every second thing he said was an f-bomb. He wanted to win so bad, he was so serious, but it was hard not to laugh.
What’s the worst habit a roommate has ever had?
Just Keith Bombaugh in general. Everything about him, seriously. Every road trip I was with him, just him in general.

I’ve had quite a few the past few years, not so much in midget. I’d say when I broke my leg last year though just because I was out for so long.
Who’s the best gamer on the team?
I’m not going to be cocky and say myself, but I’m pretty good. I game with Layton and Mario and Filly, so one of those guys. I beat Filly all the time though so it’s not him. Probably Layton.

If you could change one thing about the game what would it be?
I think the new rules are great, they allow smaller players to show their skill more. One thing though, in the Q I think they should call more penalty shots. Like in the NHL, if they hook at all it’s a penalty shot, I think it should be like that here too.
What’s the ugliest jersey in the Q?
I hate Gatineau, the purple one. It’s absolutely horrible.
What’s the worst habit a roommate has ever had?
Putting the heat up, I hate it when it’s too warm. I can’t sleep when it’s too hot.
What’s the dumbest question you’ve ever been asked?
It’s not one in particular, but it’s a type of question. Like, if I’m driving down the road and a guy pulls out around me and passes me in a big hurry, then the guy sitting next to me in my car says “why’s that guy in such a hurry?” I mean, I don’t know, I’m not in the guy’s head, how do I know? Those types of questions are really stupid.

Back in bantam AAA our coach came in and the first thing he did was threw his clipboard or something, then he went around and just trashed all of us. He just trashed us, told us it was the worst game he’s ever seen and stuff. I guess it worked because we came back, some sort of reverse psychology or something.
What’s the funniest nickname you’ve heard?
Matt Boland’s got a few good ones, his best is probably Goose. Wes Welcher’s pretty famous for being Weasel, but I think the best one is Ryan Graham. We call him Bacon because he looks identical to the guy in the Baconator commercial for Wendy’s.

I haven’t seen too many, but in my first year midget there was a guy who would leave the warmup as soon as he shot three pucks off the crossbar, didn’t matter if it was two minutes into warmup, he’d be gone. He plays on the [PEI] Rocket now, actually.
What’s the worst show on TV?
I’d have to say Oprah, I hate it. I can’t stand, I actually can’t stand it. And I’ve watched it, so I’m not just saying it. It’s awful.

In Bathurst they played the Chicken Dance. Like, I don’t want to hear that in a hockey game it’s just stupid. Turn it off.

How did you choose your number?
I changed it from 44 to 17 this year for Tim [Spencer]. He was a great guy and we were pretty close when he was here so I thought it might be a cool idea to wear his number.
If there was one thing about the game you could change about the game what would it be?
No neckguards. I hate them, I actually hate them, they’re the stupidest piece of equipment, totally useless. I just can’t stand them.

Mike O’Brien when I played with the Little Flyers. He was a twenty-year-old, and you hear how tough kids from Philly are, like from the streets and stuff, well he wasn’t from the street but he was totally nuts. He’d fight anyone, he was tough.
Worst movie you’ve ever seen?
Napoleon Dynamite or Open Water. Open Water was so stupid, like they’re just there in the water for the whole time and you’re waiting for something to eat them or something and it never happens. Awful.
